SHAWNIGAN LAKE MAP AND ATTRACTIONS
GEOGRAPHY: Shawnigan Lake is approximately 48 km (30 mi) north of Victoria, and borders the communities of Cobble Hill and Mill Bay. The village of Shawnigan Lake is on the eastern shore, contains two small general stores, a growing number of restaurants, several beaches and various small businesses including a barber, gas station, pharmacy and a coffee shop. There is also a museum, that has been run by the Shawnigan Lake Historical Society since 1977. The north-west end of the village also includes many summer cabins and a large lakeside park. RESIDENTS of Shawnigan Lake also have access to nearby communities such as Mill Bay and Langford and Duncan that offer more shopping, employment, and educational opportunities.
shawnigan lake BOAT LAUNCH Ramps
East (right) Side - Recreation Road Boat Launch is the busiest. The boat launch at Recreation Road is open daily (dawn to dusk) with a large boat ramp facility and parking for 2 boat trailers. This is one of two boat launches on Shawnigan Lake that is open to the public.
West side - Provincial Park - Fine for kayaks and very small boats but too shallow and small for larger craft.
West Side - Clearihue Road - turn at the west side fire station go to the end of the road. Not very busy at all.

Shawnigan Lake BC on Vancouver Island. The Lake is 7 miles long and is part of the electoral Cowichan Valley Regional District.
A 28-mile drive and 30 to 40 minutes north of Victoria. Or a 40 to 45-minute drive south from Nanaimo.
