SHAWNIGAN LAKE MAP AND ATTRACTIONS
THE CABIN CLUB located at Shawnigan Lake BC on Vancouver Island. The Lake is 7 miles long and is part of the electoral Cowichan Valley Regional District. A 28-mile drive and 30 to 40 minutes north of Victoria. Or a 40 to 45-minute drive south from Nanaimo. See our Climate Page for the weather and temperatures.
GEOGRAPHY: Shawnigan Lake is approximately 48 km (30 mi) north of Victoria, and borders the communities of Cobble Hill and Mill Bay. The village of Shawnigan Lake is on the eastern shore, contains two small general stores, a growing number of restaurants, several beaches and various small businesses including a barber, gas station, pharmacy and a coffee shop. There is also a museum, that has been run by the Shawnigan Lake Historical Society since 1977. The north-west end of the village also includes many summer cabins and a large lakeside park.
RESIDENTS of Shawnigan Lake also have access to nearby communities such as Mill Bay and Langford and Duncan that offer more shopping, employment, and educational opportunities.

There are lots to see and do at Shawnigan just a short drive to the Shawnigan Lake Village where you will find most of what you need from groceries to small restaurants and take outs, a pharmacy and gas station around the corner is Masons Public Beach and Store. Take a brisk 20-minute walk to the Galley Grill for burgers and beer and all you can eat Sunday Brunch Buffet! Or take a 20-minute drive to the Mill Bay Shopping Center and browse the shops and eat at Bridgemans Bistro one of the best restaurants in the area.
